  • On the basis of 106 kilometers measured sections and detailed research of sedimentary characteristics and evolution of Jiufotang Formation in Kazuo Basin,according to facies sequence relationship and the genetic significance of Calcium Carbonate and oil shale, Jiufotang Formation are divided into 1 longterm base level cycle and 7 midterm base level cycles. In longterm base level cycle, the midterm base level cycles on the rising period are mainly incomplete symmetry with the majority of uprising semicycle, the one on the transition period from rising to declining developed nearly complete symmetry, the one on the declining period mainly developed incomplete symmetry with the majority of subsiding semicycle. After detailed research of developmental characteristics and forming reason of midterm base level cycles and shortterm baselevel cycles, correlation of midterm base level cycles were carried out on representative profile.

Abstract: On the basis of 106 kilometers measured sections and detailed research of sedimentary characteristics and evolution of Jiufotang Formation in Kazuo Basin,according to facies sequence relationship and the genetic significance of Calcium Carbonate and oil shale, Jiufotang Formation are divided into 1 longterm base level cycle and 7 midterm base level cycles.
