MODERN CARBONATE SEDIMENTS IN SANYA GULF, HAINAN ISLAND
Feng Zengzhao, Wang Qi, Zhou Li, Zhang Jianhua, Zhang Xiaoyi, Ye Mengjie
1984, 2(2): 1-15.
Abstract:
Sanya Culf is situated at the southern tip of the Hainan Island and is connected with the South China Sea. The water of the Gulf is about 5-20 m in depth, and is deeper than 30 m at its southern margin. The bathymetric lines are generally parallel to its north shoreline.
LOWER TERTIARY SANDBODY TYPES AND DEPOSITIONAL MODEL OF DONGPU FAULTED SALT LAKE BASIN
Zheng junmao, Wang Defa, SunYongchuan
1984, 2(2): 17-28.
Abstract:
Dongpu Basin is a faulted basin formed by the disintegration of North China platform due to the intense block movement in Late Mesozoic. Continental sandstone and mudstone interbedded with halite and gypsum rock, 7000m thick, were deposited in Early Tertiary. The centre of the salt lake is in the northern part of the basin, where sandbodies are well developed.According to the sandbody geometry, sedimentary sequence, grain size, rocks and minerals, as well as electric loggin g, four main types of sandbodies can be distinguished.

REDUCTIVITY OF HUMIC COAL IN CHINA AND ITS RELATION TO SEDIMENTARY ENVIRONMENT
Zhao Shiqing
1984, 2(2): 53-65.
Abstract:
This paper deals with an preliminary study and analysis on the relationship between the sedimentary environment of coal-bearing formations and coal-forming quality in China. These coal-dearing formations are lower Carboniferous, Middle Carboniferous,Upper Carboniferous, the Early Lower Permian,Late Lower Permian, Early Upper Permian; Upper Triassic,Lower and Middle Jurassic,Upper Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous and the Lower and Upper Tertiary.
THE ROLE OF ORGANIC SUBSTANCE IN THE ORE FORMATION OF STRATA-BOUND MERCURY DEPOSITS
Cheng Dunmo
1984, 2(2): 81-89.
Abstract:
Wanshan type of strata-bound mercury deposits in East Guizhou-West Hunan, including the deposits in Wanshan, Dadongla, Chatian, Jiudiantang, etc. areas, has the following analogous geological characteristics and ore-forming conditions.
THE POSSIBILITY OF RECONSTRUCTING THE ANCIENT SEDIMENTARY ENVIRONMENT BY THE SURFACE CHARACTER OF GUARTZ GRAIN IN OLD STRATA
Miao Xin
1984, 2(2): 99-103.
Abstract:
In this paper quartz grains of sandstone are taken as examples for the discussion of the possibility of reconstructing the ancient sedimentary environment by studying the taxtures of quartz grains with scanning electron microscope. The sandstone collected at the depth of 2719m from well Ma 41 in the Liaohe Oil Field belongs to the second unit of the Shahejie Formation of Lower Tertiary. Others consider that the key to the possibility lies in the condition of quartz grain surface reformed by diagenesis. The quartz grains in ancient sediments can be used for analyzing the ancient sedimentary environment provided over 75 per cent of quartz grain surface has not been fully reformed, and half of over 50 per cent of quartz grain surface has been reformed.
FORMATION OF Fe-Mn-NODULE IN LUOJIO LAKE
Zhao Guhua
1984, 2(2): 113-119.
Abstract:
Being situated in eastern part of Southwest Plateau,Luojia Lake is the second deepest lake formed by graben in China, It covers 211 kmz in area, and the meaimum depth resches 155m with 89m as its mean, The altitude of the lake surface is 1721m above sea level.

PRELIMINARY STUDY ON DETRITAL MINERALS OF MODERN SEDIMENTS OF OKINAWA TROUGH
Zhu Mingahan, Yin Poming
1984, 2(2): 29-37.
Abstract:
This article treats with the detrital minerals of modern sediments of the Okinawa Trough. The area studied is located at 123°-129°E and 24°-32°N.The sample is 0.25-0.016 mm in diameter. In calculating the content, size calculation has been used for the heavy part and visual cubing for the light part.
MODERN TIDAL FLAT SEDIMENTATION IN JIANGGANG, NORTH JIANGSU
Zhang Guodong, Wang Yiyou, Zhu Jingchang, Dong Rongxin, Wu Ping
1984, 2(2): 39-51.
Abstract:
Field investigation and laboratory analysis have shown that the Jianggang tidal flat has developed its own characteristic features neither similar to North Sea tidal flat nor to Shanghai tidal flat due to its unique geographical position, hydraulic regime as well as the local sediments available.
ANALYSIS OF MINERALIZATION OF SEDIMENTARY BAUXITES OF NORTH CHINA PLATFORM
Gan Deqing
1984, 2(2): 67-80.
Abstract:
Sedimentary bauxites in North China platform occur at the basal rock formation of the Middle-Late Carboniferous on the paleoerosional surface in the Ordovician, and locally at the basal rock formation in the Permian. The mineralization of the bauxites can be analyzed in the following five aspects.
DISCOVERY OF MIXED-LAYER DICKITE-KAOLINITE IN SEDIMENTARY ROCK AND DISCUSSION ON ITS ORIGIN
Chen Yunqing
1984, 2(2): 91-97.
Abstract:
A kind of crystal of mixed-layer dickite-kaolinite has been found in sedimentary rock at Lingshan, Quyang County, Hebei Province. The length of its grain is 2mm and its diameter is 0.5mm long. The characteristics of this mineral are as follows: its differential thermogram with midtemperature; endothermic polypeaks at 550℃ and 656℃ and a small peak at 685℃; infrared spectrogram with 3705, 3695,3670, 3655, 3620 and 3598cm-1 absorptions of high frequency range; X-ray diffraction curve with continuing four classes of strong peaks, and its I(004)/I(006)=2.88.
STUDY ON AMINO ACIDS FROM LOESS IN LUOCHUAN SECTION OF SHAANXI
Xiang Mingju, Sun Fuqing, Wen Qizhong
1984, 2(2): 104-112.
Abstract:
Amino acids from Loess in the Luochuan seetion have been examined in this laboratory for the first time. The main purpose of this study is to find out geochemical significance of amino acids in the Quaternary sediments. Through the analyses of amino acids from 32 samples, result has shown that over 20 kinds of amino acids such as aspartic, threonine, etc. are present in the samples from Malan loess throughout Wucheng loess.
