STUDY ON ANCIENT SHALLOW SEA CARBONATE STORM DEPOSITS(TEMPESTITE)IN NORTH CHINA AND DINGJIATAN MODEL OF F'ACIES SEQUENCES
Meng Xianghua, Qiao Xiufu, Ge Ming
1986, 4(2): 1-18.
Abstract:
A great deal of to m pestites horizon have been recognized in strata from late- precambrian to palaeozoic in North China, among which the Late Cambrian sections particularly have a high frequence of occurences, where in many regions alm ost all the sections are made up of the frequent alternating successions caused by fair and storm weather.
OXYGEN AND CARBON ISOTOPIC COMPOSITIONS OF STRATA-BOUND SIDERITES AND THEIR GENETIC SIGNIFICANCES
Wang Guanyu, Chen Chengye
1986, 4(2): 27-38.
Abstract:
Siderite is a common carbonate mineral, other than calcite and dolomite, wide- 1y appearing as beds or lenses in strata of all ages from the Preca m brian to the Cenozoic. The δ13C and δ18o in siderite reflect the isotopic composition of CO2 and w aters from which siderite is precipitated and can be used as environ mental indi- cators.

SEDIMENTARY CHARACTERISTICS OF CARBONATE GRAIVTY FLOWS ON THE CONTINENTAL SLOPE OF THE EARLY TRIASSIC IN SOUTHERN GUIZHOU AND WESTERN GUANGXI
Wang Yigang
1986, 4(2): 91-100.
Abstract:
In Early Triassic sea area in Southern Guizhou and Western Guangxi, there exis- ted a carbonate sedimentary pattern of continental slope without bioherm, which was about 400 km long,25-70 km wide and roughly speard with a "S" pattern from nor- th-east to south-west.
STRATIGRAPHIC INFLUENCES ON SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION OF STRATA-BOUND AND SOME ENDOGENIC METALLIFEROUS ORE DEPOSITS
Tan Shundao
1986, 4(2): 111-121.
Abstract:
Taking some minerogenetic situations in the eastern part of China as the object of study, the author discusses the stratigraphic influences on spatial distribution of strata-bound and some endogenic metalPiferous ore deposits.
IDENTIFICATION OF A NOVEL SPECIES OF HEXACYLIC A ROMATIC HOPANOIDS AND DISCUSSION OF THEIR GEOCHEMICAL SIGNIFICANCE
Luo Binjie, Wang Guangyu, Li Xinyu, Zhang ziyan
1986, 4(2): 125-129.
Abstract:
Beazohopanoid series(C31-C35)have been studied and a new species-C31ben- zohopane(CZB-norbenzohopane)was first identified in black mud-stones from 6 core samples in Jugi Basia(Lower Cretaceous Strata). They are particularly abun- dant in carbonaceous shales, which representative of acid medium in marsh enviro- meat, Though assumed to be formed in the early stage of diagenesis, from bacterial Cas hopanoid precusors, they might also be reserved in the later stage(up to the depth of 3700m).Two possible evolution mechnisms were proposed and the remark- able phenominon that the high concentration of benzohopanoids matches the low ra- do of Ts/Tm was observed, The ratio of C31benzohopane/hopanes can be a new indicator of organic maturity,

HOLOCENE RAISED BEACH SEDIMENTS AND THEIR DIAGENESIS, WEIZHOU ISLAND.GUANGXI
Sha Qingan, Li Juying, Wang Yao
1986, 4(2): 39-46.
Abstract:
At many places along the coast of Weizhou Island, the coral fringing reefs has developed. Correspondently, the beach sediments consisted of bioclasts developed at the beach. The Holocene beach sediments were rised to the land, and the highest place is about 5m,higher than the present sea level. They are more or less cemented and become an im portant building material for the local residents, In the quarries various deposital structrues can be observed, They are even-stratification with sea- ward dip about 3-10(the major occurrence),fine-coarse sand-gravel bioclasts in- tercalated beds large scale tabular cross-beddings small cross-bedding, lens of coar- se grain, etc, They represent the products of swash zone, surf zone, beach cusp and storm.
A STUDY ON CHARACTERISTICS AND ORIGIN OF CALCAREOUS NODULE ON SEA BED OF SHALLOW WATER IN THE YELLOW SEA AND THE EAST CHINA SEA
Zheng Tiemin, Qin Yunshan
1986, 4(2): 47-56.
Abstract:
The calcareous nodules widely distributed on the sea bed of shallow water in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea,especially in the Haizhou Bay of the Y e1- low Sea,are a special carbonate deposit, which is found usually in the marine geological in vestigation or in operating by fishing vessels. They have not a certain shape and the diameter rang is from less lmm to several tens cm. There are a lot of organisms living on the nodule. Some of organisms make a lot of round holes on the nodules. Many researchers show interest in the nodules existiag on the sea bed but they have great divergence on their origin, some considered that the calcareous nodules sliould be suthigenic on the sea beds so m e said that their existing relates to the leaching of the matter in the Old Huanghe T fiver during the tow sea levels others held that the nodules should belong to the mical deposit, etc, In fact, so far as our information goes, the calcareous nodules are the continental loess doll su- merged by the sea water.
PRELIMINARY STUDY ON TYPES, MACROSCOPIC CHARACTERISTICS AND GENESIS-MECHANISM OF DEBRIS FLOW DEPOSIT
Cui Zhijiu
1986, 4(2): 69-80.
Abstract:
In this paper, such terrigenous elastic deposit, which has a large disparity in gram size with no sorting or a little sorting, and coarse elastic particles scattered in fine filling matrixes, 0r fine particles filled amoag interstice of coarse clastics, is defined as diamicton or diamictite.Debris flow deposit is one of the diamictons. Over a long time, it has encountered a lot of difficulties to distinguish the genesis of diamicton at home and abroad.
