Abstract:
THE CARBONIFEROUS SEDIMENTARY ENVIRONMENTS AND THE BRYOZOAN-CORAL PATCH REEF OF THE DA-TANG AGE OF THE LONG-PING CARBONATE PLATFORM IN TIANLING COUNTY,GUANGXI PROVINCE
Fang Shaoxian, Hou Fanghao
1986, 4(3): 30-42.
Abstract:
The Longping carbonate platform is located in the N anpan River area in the w estern part of the continental m argin fault basin in South China. In this area, it is a smaller one in a series of isolated carbonate platforms. It is surrounded by the NW and NE trench-rift of the graben type. The platforms are formed by the rising of horst fault. In the Carboniferous epoch, there was a successional carbonate deposits area. T he bryozoan-coral reef is located in the southern tip of the plat- form--sear Gan Dong Zi.
MIDDLE-LATE CARBONIFEROUS SEDIMENTARY FACIES AND MODEL IN THE SOUTH OF CHINA
Wang Huamin
1986, 4(3): 57-65.
Abstract:
Upper-Middle Carboniferous Series in the south of China is mainly carbonate with its extensive distribution, large thickness and various types of facies. Its main feature is that the carbonate platform facies develops well.Duriag this period, a shallow sea with basically normal salinity had been existing in this area, and the relief of the sea bottom was less distinct; thus, the circulation of water was unb- locked. However, there were still some basins with relatively deep water and quiet banks with shallow water within the platform.
THE DEVELOPMENT AND FORMATION IN THE TARIM BAY IN CRETACEOUS-PALEOCENE AGES
Yong Tianshou, Shan Jinbang
1986, 4(3): 67-76.
Abstract:
In the Jurassic age, Significant tectonic m ovements took place in the southern Gondwana land, resuPting in a large-scale basalt magma eruptions. All this indicat- ed the beginning of continental dismemberment. At the beginning of the Cretaceous period, an integrated Southern Gondwana land was dismembered into several conti- nental slabs, such as Africa, South America, India, Australia and the Antarctica. T hey began to drift in different directions, giving rise to the high tide of transg- ression on a global scope during the Earfy-Cretaceous and Late-Cretaceous Turren E poch. It w as on this basis that the T ethys Sea w ater aggressed to the western part of the Tarim platform in the Late Siloman period and the prelude of Tarim bay evolution opened.
AN APPROACH TO THE DETRITAL ASSEMBLAGES AND THEIR DISTRIBUTION PATTERNS IN THE SEDIMENTS OF THE CHINA SEA
Chen Lirong, Shen Shunxi, Xu Wenqiang, Li Anchun
1986, 4(3): 87-96.
Abstract:
We have made studies on the detrital mineral components and their distribution patterns in the sediments of the Bohai Sea, the Huanghai Sea(Yellow Sea),the East China Sea, the northern continental shelf of the South China Sea, and Gulf of Tonkin. The results show that the sediments are made up of 59 mineral components. The light minerals(less than 2.8 in specific gravity)are mainly quartz and feld- spar. The heavy minerals such as hornblende, epidote, schistose minerals,(muscovite +chlorite+biotite)and ilmenite preponderate in number. The garnet, zircon, dolo- mite, pyroaene and tourmaline come second. The contents of other minerals are very low. The distribution patterns of these minerals are described as follows.
CEMENTATION FABRICS AND DIAGENSIS OF THE RECENT AND HOLOCENE BEACH AND DUNE ROCKS IN YINGGEHAI, HAINAN ISLAND
Liu Huaibo
1986, 4(3): 105-114.
Abstract:
The recent and Holocene along the Yinggehai shoreline south w estern coast of H ainan beach and dune rocks, mainly elastic, have been found from the foreshore to the top of the dune zone on the Island.
UPPER PERMIAN CONODONT COLOR AND ORGANIC MATURITY IN SICHUAN BASIN
Jiang Huaicheng, Huang Jizhong
1986, 4(3): 127-137.
Abstract:
This article refers to the conodont color in the Sichuan Basin.According to the different colors in many regions, the development of the Permian conodont colors on the plane can be divided into three areas;(A)the light color areas(B) the light- dark color area; and(C)the dark color area.

1986, 4(3): 43-56.
Abstract:
There exists abundant carbonate in theIts maximum content of the whole volume.accounts for 51.2 % ofsurface sediments of the East China Sea.the whole weight of the samples or 70% T his article deals contents in the four with some problems about carbonate, such parts(bulk sam ple,coarse-m edian-sand frac-of as the variation tion, fine-sand one and silt-mud one),logical form and the principal factors the distributive pattern, the mineral and bio-affecting its formation.

GRAIN-S亿E DISTRIBUTION CHARACTERISTICS AND SEDIMENTARY ENVIRONMENTS OF THE MAJOR SANDBODIES IN THE XISHAN COAL FIELD IN TAIYUAN
Li Baoqing
1986, 4(3): 77-86.
Abstract:
The Xishan Coal Field is the seat of the Permo一Carboniferous stratotype in N orth China. Many geologists think highly o`f it. The author has systematically studied about 300 grain-size samples of its major sandbodies by using the thin-section met- hod.The result of his study has proved that the sedimentary environments of the sandbodies are conformable with those made by other identification methods. And so the grain一size analyses are convincing.
AN INITIAL STUDY ON THE RECENT VICISSITUDES OF UNDERWATER DEPOSIT AT THE JIULONG RIVER ESTUARY IN FUJIAN
Zhou Dingcheng
1986, 4(3): 97-104.
Abstract:
The Jiulong River is the second longest river in Fujian Province. The lower part of the estuary is of sinking type. It lies to the west of the area along Songyu of Xiamen and Yuziwei of Longhai County. Its natural change has a close relation to the economic development of "Thriangular Area"(Xiamen一Zhangzhou一Q uanzhou)in the south of F ujian Province. So. there are quite a few subjects to be studied there For example, it is necessary to know the case of lapse of sandband at the estuary and the changing features of underw ater deposit for m eking plains to transform-the Xiamen Harobur.
A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE SEDIMENTARY ENVIRONMENT AND THE RULE OF MINEROGENETIC ENRICHMENT OF THE BENXI AGE BAUXITES IN SHANXI AND WESTERN HENAN
Zhen Bingqian, Chai Donghao
1986, 4(3): 115-126.
Abstract:
Located in minerogenetic Shanxi and Western Henan, the Benai age bauxites are an important region in C hina.By dra wing division m aps of minerogenetic prospect in the above region, the authors have m ade an initial approach to its geological featur-es, the rule of enrichment and its sedimentary environment.
